You always hear about "truth in comedy." But that's kinda bullshit. There are plenty of jokes based on lies. What are some that come to mind?
So far I'm thinking of "Duke Lacrosse" becoming a meme/punch line, Sarah Palin saying she can see Russia from her backyard, and Mike Pence being for gay-conversion therapy.
*I'm interested in examples left/right/center. Not just mocking the right.
